The area

Coursac is a village of the Périgord blanc, ten minutes from Périgueux, whose Saint-Front cathedral and its five domes are a UNESCO World Heritage site, on the routes to Santiago de Compostela. On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the market fills the squares of the old town. And Chancelade abbey, 15 minutes away, makes a lovely stop on the way.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at Château de la Jarthe cost?

From £72,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its estate and its 44 beds, with the Orangery's furniture and sound, and opens its address book. You then gather the caterer, the service, the drinks, the flowers, the decor, the DJ and the photographer. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 250 at table under the Orangery's glass roof, and 350 in all. For a smaller dinner, the Salle des Templiers at the château seats 45. And 44 of your guests sleep on the estate.

Which dates are still free?

The estate hosts weddings all year round, from Friday to Sunday or on weekdays. Tell us your date, we check with the château and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, and you can choose: in the rotunda ringed with oaks, under the gazebo in the woods, on the esplanade before the château's facades, or under the nomad tent, facing the sunset. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

And a religious ceremony?

Coursac church is less than 5 minutes' walk from the château, with its own parking. Chancelade abbey and Saint-Front cathedral in Périgueux are both about 15 minutes away by car.

Can we have our civil wedding in Coursac?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Coursac town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Périgueux station is 10 minutes away, Bergerac airport 45, Bordeaux airport 1 h 30, and the A89 and A20 motorways 8 km. There is parking for cars and coaches, 44 guests sleep on site, and we share the best addresses in Périgueux for the others.

How do our guests get back after the party?

34 of them sleep at the sheepfold, the cottage and the dormitory, a few steps from the Orangery, and the 10 at the château have the electric cart. Those staying in Périgueux, 10 minutes away, find their address in the list we give you, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the château. One of you in the bridal suite, the other in another of its rooms. And the private salon, with its library and fireplace, for the photos with your witnesses.

And the heat in July?

The ceremony under the oaks stays in the shade, even on the hottest days, and the Orangery is air-conditioned. The nomad tent shelters the drinks from the sun, and the pool waits for your guests between two moments.

Can we bring children?

Yes: a play area hides in the woods next to the Orangery, in the shade, with a pétanque pitch and a secured pool. Two rooms of the sheepfold connect into a family suite. The cottage, though, suits older children better.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes, and if you already have a vendor in mind, they're welcome. Your photos are included, with our photographers. If you already have yours, we welcome them into the team and adjust your price. The château imposes no one, caterer included, and charges no corkage fee.
