The area

The bastide lies in the vines just south of Entrecasteaux, a village of the Var overlooked by its château, a fortress born in the 11th century and largely rebuilt in the 16th and 17th. On Tuesday morning, nearby Cotignac, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, holds its market of 80 stalls at the foot of an 80-metre rock dotted with cave dwellings.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at La Bastide de Fangouse cost?

From £42,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. A summer weekend costs more. Your exact price depends on your date and your guest count, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the bastide directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The bastide rents you its estate for the weekend, with its furniture and its team, and opens its address book. You then choose and bring together the caterer, the flowers, the decor, the music and the photographer. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the bastide keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 120 at dinner and 200 standing for the drinks. At 40, everyone sleeps at the bastide; at 120, it's the big party, and the estate's partner houses nearby add up to 100 beds.

Is the estate all ours?

Yes, the estate is privately hired for your whole wedding weekend: the garden, the pool, the glass hall and the rooms are for you and your guests.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with La Bastide de Fangouse and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, under the tall trees by the river, the chairs on the lawn in the shade. Or in the glass hall, the vines behind you. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Entrecasteaux?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the bastide. Entrecasteaux town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the bastide.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Aix-en-Provence is an hour away, Marseille and Nice an hour and a half, both with an international airport. The closest TGV station is Les Arcs-Draguignan. And 40 of your guests sleep at the bastide.

Until what time can we dance?

Until 5 in the morning. The band or the DJ plays under the pergola or in the glass hall, and the guests staying at the bastide are already home when the music stops.

And if it rains?

Dinner and the party move into the glass hall, air-conditioned and facing the vines, and drinks into the bastide's stone room. The ceremony can take place in the glass hall too.

Where do we get ready?

On the estate, in the newlyweds' suite, which comes with the venue: you get ready on site, and your people staying at the bastide are never far.

Will our grandparents be able to follow?

Yes. The bastide is listed as accessible to guests with reduced mobility, and a big private car park sits right inside the estate. For the ceremony by the river, we look with the bastide at the easiest way to the chairs.

Can we serve our family's wines?

Yes. The bastide charges no corkage: your family's bottles, or a cuvée you love, take their place at the table alongside the wines we choose with you.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes, and if you already have a vendor in mind, they're welcome. Your photos are included, with our photographers; if you already have yours, we welcome them into the team and adjust your price. As for the venue, the bastide imposes no supplier, caterer included.
