Planning a wedding is a second job. At Fervenza, it's ours: creative ideas that feel like you, our address book, one contract and a price you know up front. Your ally, for the two of you, carrying your whole wedding.

Why we love Prieuré Saint-Nicolas

At the end of a 13th-century bridge, a priory of pale stone watches over the Gardon gorges: a 12th-century chapel, a cloister turned garden, a natural pool. The whole estate all yours, ten minutes from Uzès. What your guests will talk about on the way home: dinner under the chapel's vault.

  • 250

guests at the table, outdoors on the Agora

    200 in the chapel

  • 12 hectares, all yours

the whole estate privately hired, on weekdays or at the weekend: chapel, bar, gardens and guest houses

  • The natural swimming pool of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, its planted filter basin, loungers and parasols, a row of cypresses behind

    A natural pool

in the priory's old reservoirs, filtered by water lilies, for the day after the party

  • The party

    • Ceremony in the chapel

12th-century walls bathed in light, room for 200 of your people

    • No closing time

the chapel becomes the dance floor, and the party lasts as long as you do

    • Rain plan

the chapel, or the dining room of the Maison du Cloître

  • Practical

    • 30 beds at the priory

in 11 rooms and suites, billed directly by the priory

invoiced directly by the venue, and we send you the links to book

    • Two car parks on site

and reception spaces open to wheelchairs

    • 10 min from Uzès

Nîmes and the Pont du Gard 20 min away

  • The tall stone building of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas above a gravel courtyard with a fire bowl, the wooded hills of the Gardon gorges beyond
    Arriving in the priory courtyard
  • The barrel-vaulted nave of the 12th-century chapel of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, pale stone lit by a high arched window
Your vows, under the chapel vault
  • The cloister garden of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, clipped box hedges, a pergola on old stone columns and white sofas, the priory's stone building behind, near Uzès
    Drinks in the cloister garden
  • The medieval Pont Saint-Nicolas crossing the Gardon in late-afternoon light, the wooded gorges behind, seen from the priory
Your photos at sunset, facing the old bridge
  • A large dinner laid out under the vault of the chapel of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, rows of white tables, the stone walls lit in warm light
    Dinner in the glowing chapel
  • The natural swimming pool of the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas, its planted filter basin, loungers and parasols, a row of cypresses behind
The next day, the natural pool

The area

The priory watches over the Pont Saint-Nicolas, in the Gardon gorges, a listed site and a UNESCO biosphere reserve between Nîmes and Uzès. On Saturday morning, Uzès holds its big market on the Place aux Herbes, some 200 stalls. And the priory arranges canoeing, climbing or a via ferrata, starting from the estate.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at Prieuré Saint-Nicolas cost?

From £61,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests, on weekdays from October to April: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. Summer weekends cost more. Your exact price depends on your date and guest count, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the priory directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The priory rents you its spaces and its two guest houses, for a day or for the whole weekend, and can also cook for you. You then bring together the florist, the music, the photographer, and the furniture and equipment. With us, all of that is in your price, except the rooms, which the priory bills directly. Every choice stays yours, and the priory keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 250 at the table outdoors on the Agora, and 200 in the chapel for the ceremony, dinner or dancing. 30 sleep at the priory, the others in Uzès or Nîmes, 10 and 20 minutes away.

Which dates are still free?

The priory hosts weddings all year round. Tell us your date, we check with Prieuré Saint-Nicolas and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, in the 12th-century chapel, deconsecrated, full of light and big enough for 200 guests. Your words, your officiant, your people around you, under the stone vault.

Can we have our civil wedding in Sainte-Anastasie?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the priory. Sainte-Anastasie town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the priory.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Uzès is 10 minutes away, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard 20. Nîmes Centre TGV station is 20 km away, Nîmes airport 30 km, Montpellier airport 70 km. 30 of your guests sleep on site, and the others stay in Uzès or Nîmes.

How do our guests get back after the party?

30 of them sleep at the priory, a few steps from the dance floor. The others stay in Uzès, 10 minutes away, or in Nîmes. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the priory, in the guest houses. One of you in the suite whose balcony looks onto the Pont Saint-Nicolas, at the Maison du Cloître; the other at the Maison du Réfectoire. Your people next door, and the chapel a few steps away.

Will our grandparents manage?

Yes. The priory's reception spaces are open to wheelchairs, and there are two car parks on site. For a step-free room, the Château d'Arpaillargues, near Uzès, has an accessible bedroom: we give you the address.

Who built the bridge just below the priory?

Monks who lodged at the priory, from 1245 to 1260, to link Nîmes and Uzès: that is the Pont Saint-Nicolas. Its 120 metres span the Gardon at the foot of the estate, and at the end of the afternoon it makes a beautiful backdrop for your photos.

And the heat in July?

In July, afternoons average 31 °C in Nîmes. So the ceremony goes in the chapel, inside its stone walls, or late in the day, and dinner once the heat eases, on the Agora or under the shade sails of the terrace facing the Gardon.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.
