We fell for Collias: an 11th-century tower, ceilings painted in 1815, and below the terraces the Gardon gorges running down to the Pont du Gard. The château is all yours, ten minutes from Uzès. You say yes by the cypresses, dinner is by candlelight, and the party carries on outside until midnight, then indoors.

The area

Collias is a village on the Gardon, between Uzès and the Pont du Gard. The Gardon gorges are a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and the Pont du Gard a UNESCO World Heritage site. The big Saturday market in Uzès, a canoe down the Gardon to the Pont du Gard: plenty for the guests who arrive early.

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château de Collias cost?

From £45,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the château, dinner and the wine, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price follows your date and your guest count: you get it in writing within a week, and once we've agreed it together, it's fixed.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you the estate and shares its address book. Then come the caterer, the staff, the flowers, the music, the photographer: a quote and a contract for each. With us, it all sits in one contract and one price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You just come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 180 outdoors and 80 indoors. The château adapts to your guest count.

Which dates are still free?

Last dates in 2027. Tell us yours: we look at it with the château and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, and it's often the best moment: in the park, on the terraces facing the gorges or in the medieval courtyard. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Collias?

In France, the civil wedding takes place at the town hall. Collias town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Nîmes airport is 35 minutes away, Avignon TGV station 40, Montpellier airport an hour. To sleep nearby, we put you in touch with places to stay around the château and send you the links to book a room block for your guests.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your ceremony at the château is a symbolic one, and the legal wedding takes place in your home country. Your contract is governed by French law and written in English too, and your planner replies the same day, on WhatsApp or by email.
