The area

The château stands in the Crau, the great plain between Arles and the Alpilles, the only steppe in Western Europe, where the AOC Crau hay grows. In Arles, the big Saturday morning market stretches over 2.5 km, and the Roman and Romanesque monuments are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château de Vergières cost?

From £45,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests, from November to March: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. From April to October, the price follows the season. The château's rooms are billed directly by the château, to you or to each of your guests: you decide what you offer. Your exact price depends on your date and guest count, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its estate, its 10 rooms, its furniture and its lighting, and shares its list of caterers. You then bring together the caterer, the service, the drinks, the flowers, the music, the photographer and the running of the day. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 400 in the hay barn, open onto the fountain garden, and up to 200 seated in the old stables. Above 200 guests, the château adds a supplement, counted in your price. 23 of your guests sleep at the château.

Which dates are still free?

The château hosts weddings all year round. Tell us your date, we check with Château de Vergières and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: under the plane trees, the chairs facing the château, or at the wrought-iron kiosk in the meadow. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Saint-Martin-de-Crau?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Saint-Martin-de-Crau town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: the TGV stations of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Nîmes are 40 to 45 minutes away, Marseille airport 45, and Saint-Martin-de-Crau's regional station 5 km. Coaches can park on the estate, and 23 of your guests sleep on site.

How do our guests get back after the party?

23 of them just go upstairs to their room. The others sleep in Saint-Martin-de-Crau or Arles, and the estate's car park takes cars and coaches. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the château. One of you in the bridal suite, the other in another suite, your people next door, and the salon and its fireplace for the photos before the ceremony.

And the July heat?

We set the ceremony late in the afternoon, in the deep shade of the plane trees. Drinks in the shaded courtyard, dinner outside as the day cools, and the old stables, air-conditioned, keep things cool for anyone who prefers it.

Can we get married there in winter?

Yes. From November to March, the château rents its reception spaces from 9 am until 5 am the next day: the old stables and the salons each have their fireplace, and the rooms are available on request. It is also when your price is gentlest.
