The area

Aveny is a hamlet on the Epte, the river between the Normandy and the French Vexin, near an 18th-century stone bridge listed as a historic monument. The famous gardens of Giverny are 15 minutes away, the big Saturday market in Vernon runs until 2.30 pm, and the Epte, which borders the park, is there for a kayak.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at Domaine d'Aveny cost?

From £46,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests, the big day and the next-day brunch: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. For the whole weekend, or a summer date, the price follows the estate's rates. The exact price for your date, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The estate rents you the château, its park and its rooms, with the dinner tables and chairs. You then bring together the caterer, the ceremony chairs, the flowers, the music and the photographer. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 200 at table in the Grande Galerie with the dance floor, 220 without. The Grande Terrasse welcomes up to 300 for drinks.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, or two or three that would suit you, we check with the estate and reply in writing. The château hosts weddings all year round.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes, and if you already have a vendor in mind, they're welcome. Your photos are included, with our photographers; if you already have yours, we welcome them into the team and adjust your price. The estate's one fixed point: the caterer, chosen among those it works with, an outside one being possible after a visit on site.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: on the lawn facing the château, in the shade of the plane trees, in the round clearing at the edge of the woods, in the rose garden, or in the Impressionist Garden by the Orangerie. You write the ceremony that feels like you, we set the scene.

Can we have our civil wedding in Vexin-sur-Epte?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Vexin-sur-Epte town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Charles de Gaulle and Beauvais airports are 50 minutes away, Paris an hour by road. By train, Paris Saint-Lazare to Vernon-Giverny takes 50 minutes, then 20 minutes by car or by taxi. And most of them sleep on the estate.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

Where do we get ready?

In the château's room for the couple, spacious and full of light. One of you can get ready in the Orangerie or in one of the hamlet's houses, if you'd like to see each other for the first time at the ceremony.

Can we bring children?

Of course, and they get their own room: the Salon d'Hiver or the Salle des Impressionnistes. The estate asks for adult, approved babysitters during the event: we help you find them, so the grown-ups enjoy the party too.

Can we have fireworks?

Yes, on request: the estate offers a fireworks show to end the evening, fired by the fireworks firm it works with. We plan it with you from the visit of the château.
