The area

Bonnieux, a hilltop village of the Luberon, is a 15-minute walk down from the estate. Those who arrive early do the Friday morning market on Place du Terrail, climb the 86 steps to the 12th-century church for the view, or walk in the Cedar Forest, planted in 1862, a kilometre from the village. The Roman Pont Julien is 3 km away.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at Capelongue cost?

From £430,000, all-inclusive, for about 120 guests: the estate, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked Capelongue directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house that asks every couple for a wedding planner. Capelongue privately hires you its estate, its rooms and its kitchen. You then bring together the marquee, the tables, the tableware, the flowers, the music and the photos. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and Capelongue keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 150 for the party, and 120 sleep on site in the 57 rooms and suites. The others stay in Lourmarin, 15 minutes away, at the house's two other hotels. For a wedding of about thirty, the hotel shapes an offer around your dates.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with Capelongue and reply in writing.

Will other hotel guests be there?

Not during your wedding: the private hire gives you the whole hotel, its gardens, both pools, the spa and the outdoor hot tub, with breakfast served to your people every morning. It is booked as a whole.

How late can we party?

Outdoors until 11 pm, then the party carries on indoors until 3 am. And since your people sleep on the estate, bed is only a garden away.

What if it rains, or it's very hot?

Dinner is served under a marquee in the gardens, so the table is sheltered either way, and after 11 pm the party moves indoors. For the ceremony, we pick a second spot on the estate with the house at your visit. In July, the vows go in the late afternoon, once the heat drops.

Where do we get ready?

In the Pigeonnier, the estate's old dovecote turned bridal suite: three floors to yourselves, a private terrace and the view over Bonnieux, with breakfast brought up to your room. And if you'd rather get ready apart: one of you in the Pigeonnier, the other in another of the estate's suites.

When is the lavender in bloom?

From late June through July, sometimes into early August. The estate has its own lavender field, just below the pool that faces Bonnieux, so those weeks your drinks are served above the flowers.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, and it's often the best moment: in the garden with Bonnieux behind you, or along the 25-metre lap pool in the upper gardens. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Bonnieux?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall. Bonnieux town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony in the Capelongue garden.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Avignon airport is 46 minutes away, Avignon TGV and Aix-en-Provence TGV stations an hour, Marseille airport 1 h 07. The hotel arranges transfers from each of them, and once there, everyone stays on the estate.

Will our families be comfortable?

Yes: free parking on site, 3 rooms adapted for reduced mobility, family suites and connecting rooms, cots and babysitting on request, and dogs welcome. The whole wedding happens on the estate, nobody needs to drive.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.
