The area

Vitry-la-Ville is a small village on the Guenelle, between the Côte des Blancs and Vitry-le-François. Châlons-en-Champagne is 16 km away: the collegiate church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Wednesday and Saturday morning market under the 1882 hall, and 40-minute boat rides along the town's canals, daily from May to September.

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château de Vitry-la-Ville cost?

From £45,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its salons, its grounds and its rooms, and opens its address book. You then bring together the caterer and the service, the music and the sound, the lighting, the flowers and the photographer. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 200 at table outdoors, and 80 in the château's three grand salons. 35 of you can sleep at the château. From the family weekend for 35 to the big party for 200, the château keeps up.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with the château and reply in writing. The château welcomes weddings all year round.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: in the gardens facing the château, close to the water, or in the grand salons when the weather turns. You can even arrive by boat along the moat, to music, in front of your guests. You choose who marries you, in English, French or both, and what gets said.

Can we marry in the village church?

The Saint-Pierre church stands right beside the château, on the same street. A religious ceremony is arranged with the parish; your guests then walk back to the château for drinks.

Can we have our civil wedding in Vitry-la-Ville?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Vitry-la-Ville town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Vatry airport is 25 minutes away, Paris-Charles de Gaulle 2 hours. By train, Châlons-en-Champagne station is 20 minutes away and Champagne-Ardenne TGV station 50. 35 of them sleep at the château, and for the others we share the best hotels in Châlons.

How do our guests get back after the party?

35 of them sleep at the château, a few steps from the dance floor. The hotels in Châlons are 16 km away, and the château has a private car park.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

How late can the party go?

Late: until 3 am, in the château's salons. Before that, fireworks over the château if you like, and those who sleep on site only have a few steps to go.

Where do we get ready?

In the château's bridal suite and its canopied rooms, with views over the park and the gardens. Your closest friends get ready in the rooms next door, and everyone is already there when the day begins.

And if it rains?

The château has three grand salons, with panelling, marble fireplaces and tapestries, for up to 80 at table, and the dancing stays indoors. For a bigger party, dinner is under the garden tent.

Can we bring the children and the dog?

Yes. The château welcomes children and pets. For the little ones: the park, the heated pool, table tennis, and boat rides on the moat.
