The area

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, between Avignon and Orange, is the village of the popes' wine: the ruins of the castle built for Pope John XXII rise above the vines, with a view to Mont Ventoux. The Provençal market fills the main square on Friday mornings, the wine estates open their cellars, and the Fête de la Véraison takes over the first weekend of August.

Fervenza is a French company that plans weddings with everything included. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château des Fines Roches cost?

From £45,000, all-inclusive, for about 80 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The whole château can be added; its 11 rooms are billed directly by the château, to you or to each of your guests: you decide what you offer. Your exact price depends on your date and guest count, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its dining room, or the whole place with its 11 rooms, and its kitchen cooks for you. You then bring together the flowers, the furniture, the music, the photographer and the running of the day. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 140. The restaurant's dining room, our base, seats 100, or 85 with the dance floor. Beyond that, the reception hall next to the château seats 140, 120 with the dance floor, and the terrace takes 300 for drinks. For more, a tent and a dance floor go up outside.

Which dates are still free?

The château welcomes weddings all year round. Tell us your date, we check with Château des Fines Roches and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, on the panoramic terrace: white chairs between the parasols and the cypresses, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards behind you. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Châteauneuf-du-Pape?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Châteauneuf-du-Pape town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Avignon TGV station is 25 km away, Marseille Provence airport 80 km, Orange 10 km. The château can arrange transport for your guests, and 30 of them can sleep on site when you hire it all.

Until what time can we party?

Until 3 am, when the music stops. Dinner leads into the dance floor, and a bartender stays at the bar for the whole after-party.

And if it rains?

Dinner is indoors anyway, in the dining room or the reception hall. The drinks move inside, up to 120 guests standing, and a covered space can go up on the terrace.

Where do we get ready?

At the château. The spa has a private space for hair and make-up, just for you. With the whole château, your room is ready from 1 pm. With the dining room alone, rooms at the château depend on its availability.
